ABOUT US
Friends for India's Development and Assistance (FIDA) is a Non Governmental Organization, registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. It is a non-profit, non-partisan organization based in Pune, Maharashtra, India and presently comprises of over 30 members from different professions and walks of life.
MISSION
To encourage, develop, fund and implement programs to improve the educational / nutritional / health / medical and overall standard of living of needy children all over India.
Through the children, FIDA aims at targeting impoverished families for physical, economic and social empowerment.
RECENT NEWS
In January 2012 FIDA visited the Pimpri Chinchwad Apang Mitra Mandal and it was heartening to see the ease with which several children handled the physiotherapy instruments, donated by FIDA around 2 years ago.
Success Stories

Higher Education
Five of the FIDA Foundation Scholarship recipients successfully completed courses which ranged from Bachelor of Arts (BA) to Auxillary Nurse Midwife (ANM).

Ratna Shinde
Ratna Shinde, who hails from a poor migrant labour family, topped the ANM course and FIDA has been successful in placing her at the Sahyadri Hospital, in Pune.

Ashwini Pardhi
Ashwini Pardhi is pursuing her Diploma in Civil Engineering from the Government Polytechnic, Pune. She works hard and grows in confidence every day.

When FIDA first started out in 2006, the parents were very skeptical. But now they are an integral part of the scholarship program and the FIDA family.
